Welcome to our NEW website!
We embarked on this journey a few years back and just never quite found the “right portage” to finish
the trek. Thank You Pete Swanson, for giving us direction, resources and knowledge! Not unlike a good
map routing session with Mark!
Enjoy your on-line stroll of our services and please be sure to give us feed-back.
Here we are, well into another season, this makes 81 total! The past 52 years have been here on Lac La
Croix… with the first three decades on Crooked Lake. Season 81 has been filled with new visitors at the
lodge! This is a direct result of our daughter, Jennifer booking some fabulous groups while on the Sport
Show circuit the past few winters… she sells like Grandpa Bill! With all of the positive feedback we have
been receiving… (thanks for the great reviews) I think we have “hooked” a few for future visits as well!
(And yes, they left their hat on the wall!) Many return guests… (family to us), have already been
through and have reserved again for 2018. We thank you all for your patronage, photos, fish stories and
hugs! Lodge families are the best!
An early ice out actually led to a late smallmouth bass spawn, surprising us all! June was cold and wet
which led to smallies still spawning well into the 3 rd week of July… the bite was incredible despite the
weather. Our fishery continues to amaze us. Plenty of 20, 21 and 22” bass have found their way into
the nets! The largest northern this season is a 52” monster! Walleyes have been plentiful, Lakers a bit
elusive. We look forward to September and the Crappie bite!
Enjoy the remainder of your summer!
Kathy, Mark & Jennifer Zup
Do you offer guide service for smallmouth. If so rates and ease of booking.
How is best way to get there from Texas Is your camp fly in?
A few years ago 8 of us paid a $100.00 deposit down, but could not go do to ice out and one member had a ticket on MVR that prevented us all from going. At the time you indicate we could use the deposit towards a future trip. You were going to shuttle us to your resort out of Crane Lake. We were to spend the night at the resort. Then shuttle us to tachumich. I am trying to otganize this trip again for 2018. Please confirm that we can still apply the prior $100.00 deposit towards this years trip. My direct phone number is (507)289-1100. It connects to my voice mail. My E-mail is now northriskpartners.com. Please get back to me. Thank you. Ken Rosemark
I am trying to set up a trip this summer preferably early to mid July for two people. Thanks DE Howser
I remember stealing some chicken out of your freezer at the Crane Lake Resort in 1965. I’d like to pay for it now. I remember falling backwards over the couch when the vicious varmit cage suddenly opened. Great fun! I brought my kids thru Curtain Falls years later and it brought back some great memories. Oh the stories! First trip was with my dad in 1956. At least a dozen more over the years. Last visit was in 2016 and the hat my kid left was still there. The one that looks like ‘Goofy’ with long ears on the side. Want to bring my grand daughters there now.
